Adult Volunteers
Helping out is a fantastic way to stay in shape.
We need help!
London Baseball has no employees and is operated entirely by volunteers. Without the support of the parents we cannot run the league. The help we require is not complicated and much of it does not require any special knowledge of baseball – all that is required is a commitment of time during the season.
We need adult volunteers to do the following jobs:
Head Coaches
In addition to organizing practices and coaching games, Head Coaches are responsible for the team equipment ( bats, balls, etc) , organizing snacks and communicating with parents. This job can easily be shared (and usually is shared) with the assistant coaches, so it is possible to be a head coach even if you have a busy travel schedule. PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR THIS POSITION AT THE TIME THAT YOU REGISTER YOUR CHILD IN THE APPROPRIATE LEAGUE.
Assistant Coaches
Assistant coaches help out the Head Coaches with all of their responsibilities. This does not require any special baseball knowledge. The more Assistant Coaches we have the better, as it helps lighten everyone's workload and time commitment. PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR THIS POSITION AT THE TIME THAT YOU REGISTER YOUR CHILD IN THE APPROPRIATE LEAGUE.
New Player Evaluations
We need about 10 helpers on the day of New Player Evaluations to help keep the kids organized and to help in processing late registrations. This job requires no baseball knowledge – just the commitment of 4 hours on one Saturday. PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR HELPING OUT BY E-MAILING US AT baseball@londonsports.com
Opening Day Helpers
We need about 10 helpers for opening day, 5 in the morning and 5 in the afternoon to help getting all the kids to the right field and the right team and to help distribute uniforms. No baseball experience is required, just the commitment for the one day. PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR HELPING OUT BY E-MAILING US AT baseball@londonsports.com
Field Preparation
We need four volunteer managers to share the job of arriving 1 hour early for each morning session to help our umpires set up each field with backstops, bases and pitching rubbers so they are ready for the teams on arrival. Fields will be taken down by the teams themselves, so this job is less than a one hour task – but it is very important. PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR HELPING OUT BY E-MAILING US AT baseball@londonsports.com
