MINORS

Minors (9 - 11 years old): The fundamentals (hitting, base running, fielding, and the rules) of the game are emphasised to players. Players (pitchers) pitch to one another in a competitive game (e.g., 6 innings). Balls and strikes are called by a League umpire. Players learn how to compete, emphasis is to build pitching and a players maturity on how to compete with an emphasis on sportsmanship. Games count in the standings. Usually games are all played (under the objective eyes of an umpires) on the weekends. Before each game there is a minimum of one hour practise and then a game is played. At the end of the season, all teams play in a playoff tournament and they are seeded based off their final standings. !st, 2nd, 3rd and etc., are awarded to each team.
