Adult Volunteers

We need help!

LondonSports Basketball has no employees and is operated one hundred percent by parents who volunteer to help out. Without the support of the parents we cannot run the league. The help we require is not complicated and much of it does not require any special knowledge of basketball – all that is required is a commitment of time during the season to help us keep the program operating.

We need adult volunteers to do the following jobs:

Head Coaches

In addition to coaching, responsible for the team equipment and for notifying team members (and their parents) of schedule or other changes. This job can easily be shared (and usually is shared) with the assistant coaches, so it is possible to be a head coach even if travel prevents one from attending every game of the season. PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR THIS POSITION AT THE TIME THAT YOU REGISTER YOUR CHILD IN THE APPROPRIATE DIVISION.

Assistant Coaches

Help out the Head Coaches with all of their responsibilities. Does not requi re any special basketball knowledge. The more assistant coaches we have the better, as it helps lighten everyone's workload and time commitment and can provide the back-up all of our Head Coaches need should business or travel commitments make it difficult to attend all of the games during a season. PLEASE VOLUNTEER FOR THIS POSITION AT THE TIME THAT YOU REGISTER YOUR CHILD IN THE APPROPRIATE DIVISION.

Skill Assessment Volunteers

Skill Assessment Sessions will be organized by Division in five sessions (there will be no skill assessment session for the 2nd Grade Co-Ed Division). All coaches are encouraged to attend and assist with the skill asessments.

Referees

Referees will be provided for the competitive leagues. Referees will be asked to attend a referee clinic prior to the start of the season. All coaches are also encouraged to attend the referee clinic so they become more familiar with the rules
